Gain of a Circular Polarized Antenna

(when the gains of two orthogonal components are known)

  1. Normalize the gain (dbi) of the larger linear component to 0 db.
  2. Normalize the gain (dbi) of the smaller linear componnt by the same factor.
  3. Enter the smaller normalized gain on the left side of the scale.
  4. Read the normalized value on the right side of the scale.
  5. Add the gain (dbi) of the larger linear component to the normalized gain in step 4 to obtain gain above circular isotrope (dbic).
